Sirubari Village : A gurung Community Homestay in Syangja, near Pokhara.
Sirubari Village is a pristine Gurung Village in Syangja district, to the southwest of Pokhara; just a short drive followed by a comfortable 3 hours walk from Pokhara. This beautiful village is situated in the south-facing slope of hill at 1700 meters above the sea level.
Sirubari Village won the “PATA GOLD AWARD 2001” for village tourism in the category; Heritage and Cultural heritage. It is first village in Nepal to implement the concept of village tourism offering community homestays.
The village consist of some 60 households mainly of Gurung Community, of which many are offering homestay for the visitors. A management body of the Village community takes responsibility of the visitor, their welcome, accommodation, sightseeing and guiding.
The climate remains pleasant through the year, but ideal time to visit is between September to June.
Attraction of Sirubari Community Homestay:
Visitors are welcomed by the Villagers as they enter the Sirubari Village with traditional band.
You will be living with one of the family of the community in their family house. The accommodation is simple but comfortable with clean toilet bathrooms.
You will be provided local fresh and delicious meal and will be eating in the family kitchen.
You will be offered guided tour to the village. Beautiful scene of Machapuchhre (Fistail), Annapurna and Dhaulagiri Himalaya Ranges seen from the Village, Terrace fields and typical Village house, and the Gurung culture and tradition blended with rich hospitality will make your visit an unforgettable experience.
In the evening, you will enjoy local Gurung songs and dance performances.
How to Reach Sirubari Village:
Sirubari is just 30 km southwest of Pokhara. Drive to Arjunchaupari in Syangja and hike to the pristine village. It is a 3 hours comfortable hike from Arjunchaupari.
